Evolution of a Portfolio
During this hands-on workshop, we’ll continue the discussion we started about preparing and evolving your portfolio. For those who did not attend the first “Evolution of a Portfolio” we’ll show what a gallery packet (presentation material) looks like, how it’s prepared, share tips on presenting your work, and marketing photography in general. If you have ever wanted to “do more” with your images but don’t know how to where to start this hands-on workshop will help guide you to the point of approaching galleries, magazines, festivals, portfolio reviews, and the like.
For this hand-on workshop, part of the time will be spent in small groups and break out sessions so you are welcome (but not required) to bring a sample of images (recommend about 6) for which to work on marketing, including crafting an artist statement. They do not have to be exhibition quality prints and can be digital (for example, iPad) images. If you are not yet ready to share images, you are welcome to attend and we’ll work on your biography or other presentation materials, but please come prepared to discuss your work, what you do and where you want to go with it.
