February’s digital competition theme is Oldies-open.  You can submit up to two images of your choice. For the month of February only, your images are not required to be less than 2 years old. Robert Godwin, our speaker for the evening, will be the judge.

Submissions are divided into three classes – Class 1 (novice), Class 2 (intermediate), and Class 3 (expert). Each club member is free to choose which class to enter; however, please review the new guidelines and select the class that you most closely qualify for. For more info, read this post about classes.

The monthly NAPƒS digital competition is meant to be fun, inspirational, and educational. The judging and associated critiques are positive, supportive, and a useful learning tool.

A reminder – you must join NAPƒS to take part in 2019 competitions. The cost of membership is only $24, and your annual contribution is used 100% in support of club operations and activities.

Read the rules, then submit your competition images!

About Robert Godwin

Robert Godwin grew up in an Air Force family that traveled to England, Germany and all over the United States. He was the “new kid” in school 14 times before graduating high school in Bryan, Texas. He attended the Air Force Academy for two years before a knee injury turned him into a civilian.

Arriving in Austin in 1974, he attended UT Austin as a Middle Eastern Studies major. Before graduating, he accepted a photographer’s job in 1976 with the Austin Citizen, an afternoon daily. The paper closed in 1981 and Robert began a freelance career that continues. He was on retainer with Austin Homes and Gardens for 3 years and then with the West Austin News for 24 years. During those years, he focused primarily on the non-profit event scene. He has covered more than 25,000 events with more than 600,000 images.
