Speaker – Nell Carroll

Nell CarrollNell Carroll’s presentation will center around stories and advice for photographers wanting to make a living as a photojournalist. Along with sharing her background in photojournalism, we’ll hear her take on editing and what she looks for in a portfolio.

About Nell Carroll

Nell Carroll is a photographer, photo editor, and teacher who’s been fortunate enough to be able to continually work with all forms of photography for 30 years. Nell is currently the Director of photography and video at The Austin-American Statesman.

While journalism has been her main career path, Nell is always open to exploring other avenues where she can use what she’s learned over the years.

Nell enjoys taking candid family portraits and travel photos and combining her love of gardening with photography, Nell uses her yard as her “studio”.

Her other passion, horses, also allows Nell to make equine portraiture, another outlet for her creativity.
