Speaker – Casey Holder
Casey Holder, Director at Precision Camera, is our speaker and he will be presenting his work photographing musicians at concerts and taking street portraits. This meeting is open to the public and photographers of all levels of experience.
About Casey Holder
On his blog, Casey introduces himself as a “Narrative Photographer” saying simply “I like to take pictures. I make interesting images of interesting people doing interesting things.” On his recent trip to Mexico City, he refers to “stealing souls” to describe his passion for street photography using a portable flash with LumiQuest light box attachment.
His specialty is in making portraits, shooting live music, and telling stories. Earlier in March, he was super busy at SXSW covering performances by his girlfriend’s synth-pop band SIGNY. “I got to be a fly on the wall for the whole thing and have tons of great photos and stories. I was snuck into two different official SXSW events with my cameras by industry people, saw some great acts, lived the roadie life and more.”
Casey worked as a freelance photographer for The Fort Worth Star-Telegram and as a full-time multimedia reporter for The Graham Leader. He has been published in magazines like THRWD, Arlington Today, DFW.com, and online at ovrld.com. His work has been featured on album covers, a vinyl record, and used for the social media accounts of large businesses. He has a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2014.
